SKOB have won the 2022 Premier Division Grand Final after a torrid battle with Old Brighton at Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham. Final scores 5.16.46 to 3.6.24
Fittingly it was Tom Jok who was awarded the Jock Nelson medal for best on ground after a brilliant display, but there were great contributions across the 22 players. Jack Darmody kicked two goals including a sharp shot from the pocket in the third term that gave SKOB a break they would not relinquish. Shaun Kennedy kicked two big goals and Luke Winter skidded one through in the last quarter to put the icing on a great tasting cake.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches, trainers and supporters for a magnificent year. Our opponents today - Old Brighton - were gallant and gave a great fight in what was a terrific contest for the big crowd that turned out in fantastic number. The game was tight throughout, but SKOB gained the ascendancy in the third term and went away with a hard fought win.
