Someone flicked the switch at half time and the SKOB Seniors took a torch to the T’s, piling on 17 goals to 2 to run out big winners at the College on Saturday. On a glorious winter’s day, it was a fabulous feast of football with the home team picking up 4 wins out of 5 games across the Ovals of St. Kevins. Preceding the Seniors big win we saw victories to the Reserves over Old Trinity, the Academy over Uni Blues and the Greens over Preston. The Saints Gold were the only team to miss out despite a thrilling fightback in a highly entertaining game that went right to the wire. Over at TH King, the Under 19 SD3’s toppled Willy and the SKOB Dogs beat the Oggs, but Hampton Rovers had the final say with a win over the 19 SD1’s. The Stingers were at Toorak Park in a late fixture switch and gave a good sight against Xavs, but couldn’t quite wrestle the lead, whilst the 19 Premier lads had a huge win down at Beauy. Seven from ten for SKOB as the Club celebrated a wonderful Past Players Day at St. Kevin’s College.
Second half blitz hits T's for six
If ever it was a tale of two halves - this was it. After an even opening, SKOB came out from the sheds and blitzed their opponents in a second half of scintillating football. Jacob Koschitzke booted 8 goals - all after half time - as SKOB skipped away from a plucky Old Trinity team that had taken it right up to their hosts on a glorious winter's day. The opening salvos had gone the way of SKOB after a bright start saw them put a gap on the T's who were finding things tricky on the unfamiliar Skevs layout. The crowd on the balcony were looking set for a pleasant Saturday afternoon once their home side stretched the lead out to 35 points half way through term two, and seemingly in total control of proceedings, but no one mentioned this to Trinity who, in a flash, turned the tables on their hosts with a blitz of their own. The T's slammed through 5 goals in a tick over 8 minutes to completely flip the script and set supporters scrambling for the timekeeper to blow for the half. Fortunately SKOB were able to snatch a late strike through Tom Ferguson to stop the run and take his team to the sheds with a 12 point buffer that was sufficient - although not as healthy as it had been.
I'm have no idea what was in the Gatorade at half time, but SKOB came out a completely different unit following the main break. A lovely set shot from the boundary from Callum Jones took the spark out of the T's resistance and it was all one way traffic to the Wilding Centre End of the park. A completely dominant performance from SKOB who piled on 8.5 to zip as the defence blanketed any threats from the visitors. With their tails up now and the home crowd urging them on, SKOB slammed through another 9.8 for the quarter, and although the T's managed two goals of their own, the final margin blew out beyond three figures well before last call. In a complete team performance, Ben Mansfield was outstanding, as he fed Jacob Koschitzke (8 goals), Jack Behnk and Callum Jones (5 goals apiece). Others to grab the spotlight amongst a bevy of good performers were Liam Gunson and Billy McGee Galimberti. Angus Hart celebrated his 100th game with a late snag and could have had another as the goals rained in.
A fantastic display from SKOB who gave the Past Players in attendance plenty to cheer about as they crammed into the rooms post match.
The win jumps SKOB back up to third spot on the table as they head for the Snake Pit next weekend before the bye.

Reserves Continue Winning Run
The SKOBs Reserves returned to action for the annual college visit, coming off a strong patch of form in recent weeks.
The game kicked off with both teams playing an entertaining brand of football. The pace was high from the opening ballup, with the SKOBs enjoying the majority of the early forward-half entries and getting first hands on the footy. The boys asserted their dominance in open play, with Jack Luscombe showing a safe pair of hands up forward and kicking a snag alongside Thomas Williams to keep the contest close.
The second term began with the SKOBs shifting up a few gears, as everything clicked into place. Jack Darmody immediately gave the boys the perfect start with back-to-back goals. The boys used the width of the ground to full advantage, switching the ball when required, which led to easy forward-half entries and quality scoring opportunities. Patrick Crough took a beautiful intercept mark across half-back, sparking a quick transition through the corridor before James Hunt finished off the goal of the day with a smooth lead and set shot. The scoring continued late in the quarter, helping the SKOBs extend their lead to 25 points at the main break.
Coming out after half-time, the boys continued to pile on the pressure with fluid ball movement and excellent communication, extending their lead even further. The SKOBs looked in complete control of the contest, dominating all the key areas of the game in a performance that was pleasing on the eye for fans and spectators alike. The midfield and back six continued to exert their authority, holding Trinity to just one point for the entire quarter.
The fourth quarter arrived with the sun shining on a great day for the club and the Reserves. The boys looked like they were enjoying themselves as they piled more scoreboard pressure on Trinity, producing a complete four-quarter performance. Three unanswered goals capped off an impressive 67-point victory. With another four points secured, the boys notched up their third consecutive win and continue to build momentum in their push for a top-four finish.
A couple of cracking Saints Games were held on Oval #2. The Greens got up in a tough tussle with Preston as the top two teams battled it out. In the main game, the Saints Gold stormed home late on the back of some Sarah Cameron magic in her 100th game, but Old Brighton were able to snatch a late winner and take the points. Sarah Withers was there to capture the action
