SKOB are in full swing having completed their pre-Christmas training session program on Tuesday 17 December and looking forward to returning in January. Our Senior coach from 2019, Guy Martyn, is once again back in charge of the Seniors for 2020 and has added a couple of key members to his team.
Craig Jennings joins the team as Director Of Coaching.
From 2016 to 2019 Craig was Assistant Coach and Strategy and Education Coordinator at the Melbourne Football Club. In 2015 he was Opposition Coach at the the Western Bulldogs and from 2005 to 2014, Assistant Coach and Football Knowledge Manager at the Essendon Football Club. Craig was elite junior footballer representing the Victoria Schoolboys at U15 before being drafted as 16yo by North Melbourne at pick 45 in 1990. In 1991 he was Captain of Victorian Country (U17), All Australian Teal Cup representative (U17) and a starring member of North Melbourne’s U19 premiership. Craig spent 1992-1993 on North Melbourne’s Senior List before becoming Assistant playing coach at Churchill FC and Devon – Welshpool FC in the VCFL with great success. Craig is currently completing a Masters in Coaching and the exclusive AFL Level 4 Coaching Program.
We are absolutely thrilled to have someone of Craig’s calibre and football pedigree join our Club. In his role of, Director Of Coaching, he will use his experience and knowledge to work with all our Club
coaches to help develop and support them. In particular he will work closely with our Senior coaches to assist in football game plan, style and development.
Paul Greenham: Paul returns to SKOB, as an Assistant Coach, where he excelled as a player in over 150 games. He played in two U19 premierships with SKOB and won a competition Best & Fairest before playing with Port Melbourne in the VFL. After some outstanding performances Paul was drafted by Richmond where he spent 2 years playing in two NAB Cup games before spending a year at Carlton. In 2001 he returned to SKOB where he was Club Champion in 2002 and played in the 2004 premiership (finishing Runner Up in the Comp B&F). In 2007 - 2008 Paul was playing coach of Prahran and was VAFA Representative Assistant Coach in 2009 before spending 9 years with the Western Jets in the TAC Competition as Development Coach and Line Coach. Paul was also Assistant Coach with University Blacks in the VAFA Premier Division in 2015 and with North Old Boys in 2016. He also has dedicated 8 years to coaching junior football.
We are very excited about Paul returning home to SKOB.
Dan Currie will once again be an Assistant Coach to Guy Martyn - a role in which he excelled in 2019.
