Bern out at the Pit as SKOB look to finals

In their last hit out before the finals begin, SKOB went down to a determined St.Bernard's outfit at the "SnakePit" on Saturday. As was the trend in Premier Division all top three sides lost in the final round to teams below them on the ladder as none of them had much at stake in terms of finals positioning coming in to the last home and away fixture. The result actually saw SKOB slip to 4th on the final ladder, but regardless will still face off in a First Semi as was always going to be the case. Collegians will be the team to come up against SKOB in that final and given the recent history between these two teams, it should be a humdinger of a contest.

SKOB 11.8.74 St Bernards 13.12.90  Goal Kickers: C. Jones 3, P. Edgar 2, A. Lynch 2, H. Wardlaw, S. Barnett, S. Kennedy, M. Pisker Best Players: C. Ross, C. Jones, C. Hodges, C. Matheson, P. Edgar, A. Lynch

Around the grounds for SKOB yesterday, the Reserves had a close win over St Bernards to close out the season in third place on the ladder and our Thirds also won against Uni Blacks to finish 2nd. It was finals time for the Under 23s and they got through their first semi with a big win over Whitefriars on the back of a 5 goal haul to Christian Masson Moyle. They now progress to the Prelim next week - well done boys. In our Under 19 Div 4 team, they put up a huge effort for three quarters against MHSOB but were overrun in the final term to bow out of the finals. It was a magnificent effort just to get there for the "Gypsies" and we congratulate them for a great fighting season.
