Vale - Michael Kelly

Updated: Nov 6, 2019

Michael was hugely popular amongst SKOB players and supporters alike

It is with great sadness that SKOBFC announce the passing this week of a great SKOB supporter Michael Kelly.

Michael passed away peacefully on 01.11.19.

A much loved and fiercely loyal member of the SKOB community, Michael was a permanent fixture at SKOB games for many years, often serving as Interchange steward for the Seniors - a role that he took on in any weather conditions and with great energy and enthusiasm, without fuss. Michael was an influential character who gathered reams of intel on the opposition which was highly valued by coaches and supporters alike. His regular email updates to a select group of supporters with team announcements was a tightly secured dossier but much appreciated by those that received his weekly report. He will be sorely missed by the SKOB community. Michael was a dearly loved husband of Jenny, devoted father of Katherine, Jimmy & Matt, step-father to Carolynne, father-in-law to John & Sonia. Beloved son of Len and Pat (dec), brother of Judith (dec) & Mary.

A loving husband, loyal friend, doting father, and unforgettable character. Forever in our hearts.

Mick Kelly always kept a close eye on his beloved SKOB from his favourite corner post on the balcony at TH King

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm Thursday 7th November at St Joan of Arc, 118 New St, Brighton.

There is also a Rosary service at 7:30pm Wednesday 6th November at St Joan of Arc, 118 New St, Brighton

After Mass on Thursday there’ll be light refreshments in the Church Hall adjacent to St John of Arc, and from there we’ll proceed to Milano’s Tavern, 4 Esplanade, Brighton. A private room has been booked and ALL are welcome.
