Focus on Mental Health at SKOB in Business Breakfast

On Wednesday morning at Club Sponsor Mercedes-Benz Toorak the SKOB in Business Weeping Willows Club were joined by our other great sponsors as well as fellow members of the wider SKOB community at a Breakfast in the showroom on Carters Avenue, Toorak. The event was a fantastic opportunity for all to mingle in a casual networking environment.

Joining us on the day were guest speakers Paul Roos and Wayne Schwass who had a robust and informative Q&A session hosted by Lee Matenga of MBT.

Wayne gave us a fascinating insight into his own lifetime battle with Mental Health - much of which he fought silently throughout his sporting career. Wayne now dedicates much of his energy in creating awareness of mental health and its impact on all of us regardless of what environment we are in. Paul Roos spoke about the emergence in the sporting and business world of meditation and yoga practices that focus on mental health. He spoke of how they are becoming much more a part of what is available today compared to what he experienced with the 'blokey culture" of football clubs that he grew up with.

More of what Wayne has been doing in the area of mental health and suicide prevention can be found at www.pukaup.com

Our thanks go to Lee and his team at MBT who made the space available this morning and facilitated such a fascinating and informative discussion.
