De- bacle. Home side far too strong in local derby

De La Salle OC have torn SKOB a new one, with a comprehensive 81 point thrashing of St. Kevin's in their Round 15 clash at Waverley Oval. Entering the round amidst the shadow of potential relegation, De La played with significantly greater intent from the get-go. The home team racked up 7 goals and kept SKOB scoreless in the first quarter to effectively kill the contest by quarter time.

There was little let up from De La in the second term, piling on another 6 goals and although SKOB were finally able to trouble the scorers, a return of 2.6 for the quarter proved futile in the face of the De La onslought.

Coaches and supporters were left scratching their heads as the scene was repeated after half-time. De La again kicking another six goals to SKOB's one, and as the teams headed in for the final huddle the margin had blown out beyond 100 points.

Only some late goals in the final quarter gave SKOB any salvation from a disappointing performance and reduced the margin slightly, but by then all sting had gone out of a game that SKOB will want to put behind them as quickly as possible and move on from.
