SKOB lose another 1952 Premiership Player....

Vale John (Jack) Baquie 1926 – 2020

Following the recent death of Frank (Mick) O’Brien, teammate John (Jack) Baquie

sadly passed away on 18 May at age 94.

Jack joined SKOB in its first year in

1947 and went on to play 71 games from 1947 to 1954 and was a member of

SKOBs first Premiership team of 1952.

His son Peter Baquie (1976) and Grandson

Tom Cunningham (2010-2016) have also played for SKOB.

When it was decided to give every SKOB player a number, we went back to the

start and put the 36 players from that year in alphabetical order. Jack Baquie was

given Player Number 1. We have continued to do that for the 72 years that have

followed. The last Player Number, awarded from the 2019 season, is 2,633!
